The journey is more important than the destination Eco-Therapy.org
Intro
Nature based therapy has many different names and forms. All of which fall under the umbrella of Ecopsychology, which is defined with 8 principles by Theodore Roszack. I believe that our psychology is deeply intertwined with nature and is an essential component to our development throughout life. We can examine our relationship with nature to help increase our awareness, insight, and empathy. We also are deeply impacted by natural disasters, global climate change, and ecosystem changes. Much of these anxieties are happening below our current level of understanding, which can be adding or causing mental health challenges. Cultivating a healthy relationship with nature, just as cultivating a healthy relationship with another person can result in healing, satisfaction, and a deeper connection. Take a look at my approach

Work
My practice is rooted in outdoor settings-nature itself serves as our office. Based in Bigfork,
Montana, I specialize in nature-based therapy throughout the Flathead Valley. I often meet clients
in local community parks, trails, and other natural spaces, embracing the full range of weather
conditions. In these sessions, we will explore your current and past mental health challenges,
identify effective interventions, and nurture your relationship with yourself, others, and the
natural world. My goal is to support you in improving your mental health and overall daily
functioning.
I am licensed to provide counseling in both Montana and Oregon. In Montana, I focus on in-
person outdoor sessions, working with clients in the restorative landscapes of the Flathead
Valley. During the summer months, I also offer therapeutic rafting adventures, blending the
healing power of nature with the unique experience of being on the river. I believe that time spent outdoors can be beneficial for everyone. For some, meeting
outside-free from walls and closed doors-may feel more comfortable and safe than a
traditional office-based setting. That said, it is important to note that meeting in public spaces,
such as parks, comes with certain limitations to confidentiality.
For clients located in Oregon, I provide services through teletherapy exclusively, offering the flexibility to connect
from the comfort of your own space.

About Me
Hi, I'm Aaron Adamski. My path into counseling began long before my formal
education-growing up on a small hobby farm in rural Minnesota gave me a deep appreciation
for the rhythms of nature and the grounding it can bring. When I moved to Montana for college, I
earned my B.A. in Psychology and took part in the Wilderness & Civilization Program, an
experience that solidified my belief that the natural world can be a powerful source of healing
and growth.
I went on to complete my Master's in Counseling at Lewis & Clark Graduate School in 2019 and
later pursued advanced training in the intersection of ecology and mental health through a
Certificate in Ecopsychology from Pacifica University in 2020. Since becoming licensed in
2022, I have been honored to walk alongside clients on their journeys of self-discovery and
healing.
Today, I am licensed in both Montana (License #55639) and Oregon (License #C6586). I live in
Bigfork, Montana, where I offer outdoor-based therapy in the Flathead Valley and, during the
summer, therapeutic rafting adventures. For clients in Oregon, I provide teletherapy services,
making it possible to connect no matter where you are in the state.
I am listed on the NASW Montana Supervisor Registry. If you are LCSW or LCP candidate, reach out if you are interested in supervision
I am currently credentialed with a variety of insurance providers, including Montana Medicaid,
Montana Healthy Kids, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Providence, PacificSource,
Allegiance, and Carelon.
At the heart of my work is the belief that reconnecting with nature-and with yourself-can
open new paths toward balance, resilience, and meaningful change.
